Specs Removal / LASIK Suitability

Specs-removal surgery should not be treated as one-size-fits-all. A proper refractive surgery consultation should begin with eye power stability, corneal thickness, corneal shape, dry eye status, pupil size, retina health and lifestyle requirements.

Based on evaluation, suitable candidates may be counselled about LASIK, PRK, ICL or other options. Some patients may be advised to avoid surgery if tests suggest higher risk.

Cornea Evaluation

Dry eye evaluation is especially important for patients planning LASIK or other specs-removal procedures, because dry eye can affect comfort, healing and visual quality after refractive surgery.
